01 / Design & development

A website that feels like your business.

You know your business. I turn that knowledge into a clear, considered website that helps your customers understand your services and take the next step.

Built around the people you want to reach.

A service business needs more than an attractive homepage. Visitors need to understand what you do, see reasons to trust you, and find a straightforward way to enquire or book.

I design and build websites for small and medium-sized businesses, with particular attention to the owners who want a direct contact for the whole project. You work with me, Oliver Ottesen, from the first conversation through the finished website.

What is included in a small-business website?

We agree on the scope before paid work begins. A website project brings together the structure, design and development needed to present your business clearly.

  • A page structure built around your services and customer questions.
  • A visual direction that suits your business, with readable typography and considered imagery.
  • Responsive layouts for phones, tablets and desktop screens.
  • Clear navigation and routes to contact or booking, as agreed for your project.
  • An SEO foundation: page titles, descriptions and a clear content hierarchy.
  • A finished website, with optional hosting and ongoing care discussed before launch.

Starting fresh, or improving what is there.

If you already have a website, share the address and explain what feels difficult or out of date. We can discuss the content worth keeping, the questions customers struggle to answer, and the improvements that matter most.

For a redesign, existing page addresses and useful content need attention alongside the visuals. The proposal should identify what is being retained, changed or moved. Search rankings can change during a redesign; I do not promise a particular position or traffic result.

What do I need to provide?

Tell me what you offer, who you serve, and what a good enquiry looks like. Existing branding, photos, service details and examples you like help establish a direction. You remain the source of truth for claims about your business.

Copy refinement, booking integration and campaign pages can be added to the agreed scope. Any external service requirements are discussed before they become part of the project.

Is the first website proposal really free?

The first proposal is free and carries no obligation. If the direction feels right, we agree on the scope and a one-time price for the website. Ongoing care is optional.

Ownership, access, hosting arrangements and future changes should be clear before work starts. I will discuss these with you as part of the agreement, so you can choose what fits your business.

Can my website be in another language?

We work together in English. Your website can be built in the language your customers use, or in several languages. We agree on translation, language review and which pages need each version as part of the project.

Different languages can change page layouts, navigation and the amount of space text needs. The content and its meaning need review before publication, alongside the design.

No cost. No commitment.
