Web design / Service businesses
Help the right customers recognise the right business.
When your work starts with a conversation, your website should help customers understand whether you can help before they contact you. I design websites for independent service businesses that need a clear presentation and a useful enquiry route.

This approach suits small businesses where customers compare the work, the people and the practical details before making a decision. That might be a carpenter explaining fitted storage, an interior designer showing their approach, or a consultant describing the problems they help solve.
The starting point is the work you actually want to take on. Your services, the customers you can help and the information needed for a first conversation shape the website. These are examples of possible projects, not a list of past clients.
Give each service a clear job.
A visitor may arrive on a service page without seeing the homepage. That page should explain what the service covers, who it is suitable for, the practical boundaries and how to ask about it. Different names for the same offer do not automatically need separate pages.
For an imagined fitted-storage business, a wardrobe page could explain made-to-measure work, show approved photographs and describe what happens before a quotation. Someone looking for a small repair should be able to tell whether that is offered, without sending an unsuitable request.
- Describe the service in words customers use, with clear limits where needed.
- Confirm your real service area or remote-working arrangements.
- Show genuine work with enough context to understand it.
- Explain the next step and the information you need to respond.
Show the reasoning behind the work.
A photograph becomes more useful when it explains the brief, the constraints and what was delivered. A short project description can help a potential customer judge whether your experience fits their own situation.
Use photographs and feedback you have permission to publish. If your business is new, describe your process and show clearly labelled personal work or concepts. A qualification, client relationship or result should only appear when you can support it.
Ask enough to begin a useful conversation.
An enquiry form should collect what you need to assess the project without becoming an application process. Name, contact details and a short description are a useful starting point. Location or preferred timing may help when they affect whether you can accept the work.
A request for a quotation is different from a confirmed booking. If your business needs a booking provider, we discuss availability, account access and the integration before including it in the scope. Contact options should remain clear when a form or external service is unavailable.
Already have a website? Start with what is useful.
Send the current address and explain what is getting in the way: an unclear offer, outdated work, difficult updates or an enquiry route customers struggle with. Sometimes a focused improvement is enough. A wider redesign makes sense when several parts of the presentation need to change together.
Before replacing pages, identify useful content and addresses people already use. Any move needs a relevant destination and a checked redirect. Existing search visibility deserves attention alongside the new design; no redesign can promise unchanged rankings.
A free first proposal, with a clear next decision.
You work directly with Oliver Ottesen at WebLevitation, an independent studio based in Oslo and available for remote projects. We work together in English; websites in other languages are possible with translation and language review agreed as part of the project.
Your first proposal is free and carries no obligation. If you want to continue, we agree on the scope and a one-time price before paid work starts. Hosting, relevant updates and agreed content changes are available through optional ongoing care. You can keep your attention on your business while I handle the agreed website work.
No cost. No commitment.
